CamLauncher is designed as a strict offline utility. We do not collect, transmit, share, or sell your personal data, recordings, or usage statistics to any external servers. All audio and video recordings captured by the app are stored strictly locally on your device's internal storage.
2. PERMISSIONS & ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE API
To function as a reliable emergency and dashcam utility, CamLauncher requires specific sensitive permissions:
- Accessibility Service API: Used solely to detect physical volume button presses while the app is in the background or the screen is off. This allows you to instantly trigger a recording in an emergency. We do not use this service to observe your screen, collect personal data, or monitor your interactions with other apps.
- Camera & Microphone: Used exclusively to capture video and audio when you explicitly trigger a recording.
- Foreground Service: Ensures your recordings are not interrupted by Android's battery optimization when the app is in the background.
- Display Over Other Apps: Used to display a persistent status indicator (HUD) so you are always aware when a recording is actively taking place.
3. DATA SECURITY
Because your media never leaves your device, its security is governed by your Android operating system's internal file encryption and lock screen settings.
